When you create a connection, choose an **Authentication method**: - **OAuth** authorizes Polytomic's own Sage-registered application. Click **Connect**, sign in to Sage Intacct, and accept the authorization request. - **Private application** authorizes an application that you register with Sage yourself. With either method, the Sage Intacct user who accepts the authorization request must be a company administrator, unless the company has already authorized the application's web services sender ID under **Company > Setup > Company > Security > Web Services authorizations**. ### Register a private application Registering an application requires a Sage Intacct Web Services license, which consists of a sender ID and sender password. If you do not have one, contact your Sage Intacct account manager or partner representative. 1. Go to the [Sage Developer Portal](https://developer.sage.com/intacct/), select **View Console**, and sign in with your Sage account. 2. Select **Applications > New Application**, choose **Sage Intacct** as the API, and select **Continue**. The first time, you are asked to enrol in the Sage Intacct Developer Programme using your sender ID as the license key; after enrolling, repeat this step. 3. Enter an **Application name** and select **Continue**. 4. Under **Redirect URIs**, enter `https://app.polytomic.com/connect/sage_intacct`. Self-hosted Polytomic deployments use their own Polytomic URL with the same `/connect/sage_intacct` path. 5. Enter your **Intacct Web Services License Password** (the sender password). The license key is filled in for you. 6. Set **Client Scope** to **Production**. This cannot be changed after the application is created. 7. Select **Create Application** and wait for Sage's approval email. Once approved, the application's **Client ID** and **Client Secret** are available in the console. ### Create the connection 1. In Polytomic, create a Sage Intacct connection and set **Authentication method** to **Private application**. 2. Enter the **Client ID** and **Client secret** from the Sage Developer Portal. 3. Click **Connect**, sign in to Sage Intacct, and accept the authorization request. When creating the connection through the API instead, set `auth_method` to `private_app` and supply `application_id` (the client ID), `client_secret`, and an `oauth_refresh_token` that your application obtained with the `offline_access` scope. ## Connection ### Configuration
