# Get Sync Source

GET https://app.polytomic.com/api/connections/{id}/modelsync/source

Describes the source configuration available on a connection for use as a model sync source.

Use this endpoint before creating a model to understand what configuration is
available. Once you have a configuration, resolve the fields available for
sync mapping with
[`GET /api/connections/{id}/modelsync/source/fields`](../../../../../api-reference/model-sync/get-source-fields).

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (basic auth, required) — This is the Polytomic deployment key (on-premises only)
- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — This is the Polytomic API key

## Request

### Path parameters

- `id` (string, required) — Unique identifier of the connection.

### Query parameters

- `params` (map from string to list of string, optional) — Query parameters used to incrementally refine a dependent source configuration. Keys correspond to configuration fields returned by previous calls to this endpoint.

## Types

### V4SyncSourceMetaResponse

- `configuration` (map from string to ConfigurationValue, optional) — Additional configuration fields available for this source, keyed by field name.
- `items` (map from string to V4SourceMeta, optional, nullable) — Map of configuration item name to its metadata (available values, required-one-of groups).
- `requires_one_of` (list of string, optional, nullable) — Configuration items where exactly one must be selected by the caller.

### V4SourceMeta

- `has_items` (boolean, optional) — True when items is non-empty. Callers should present the values as a picker.
- `items` (list of any, optional, nullable) — Valid values the caller may choose for this configuration item.
- `requires_one_of` (list of string, optional, nullable) — Other configuration items this item depends on; exactly one of the listed items must also be selected.
